How the drawers are laid out
Each drawer holds two rows of shoes, one above the other, rather than a single row. That is what allows a cabinet under 10 inches deep to take the pair count it does. A shaped divider inside the drawer creates the upper row and holds the shoes at an angle so the toes face out.

Storing boots and heels
Removing the divider turns a two-row drawer into one tall compartment. That is how ankle boots, block heels and taller footwear fit, and it is worth planning before you fill the cabinet: decide which drawer becomes the tall one, then load the rest.
Stability
All four cabinets include an anti-tip device, and all four are tall and narrow enough that it should be used. The hardware anchors the cabinet to the wall behind it. If there are children in the house, fit it during assembly rather than afterward.
