The Fall Decor Worth Buying Before It Sells Out
Fall front-door decorating looks simple until you start comparing wreaths side by side. Size changes how a wreath reads from the street, the colour of the door changes which palette stands out, and even the hanger can determine whether the finished setup looks considered or improvised.
The current Trufairs 22-inch artificial fall wreath comes in eight autumn styles, from red-orange berries and maple leaves to daisies, eucalyptus and mini pumpkins. The same product selector also offers three adjustable over-the-door hangers, sold separately. The wreaths share a listed 22-inch expanded diameter, but their colors, accents and depth vary.
Here is what we would decide before choosing a style.
Start with the size of the door
The most useful measurement is not the wreath by itself. It is the wreath in proportion to the door behind it.
For a typical single front door, a wreath covering roughly half to two-thirds of the visible door width usually creates a balanced look. Each of the current wreath options is listed at approximately 22 inches across when fully fluffed, so the differences come mainly from the arrangement rather than a change in overall diameter.
- For a standard single door: a 22-inch wreath can make a clear seasonal statement while leaving visible space around the edge.
- For a narrow or glass-panel door: check the width of the unobstructed area, along with any glass, handles or decorative hardware near the proposed hanging position.
- For a storm or screen door: measure the space between the doors as well as the wreath's diameter. The Orange Pumpkin & Berry style is listed at about 5 inches deep, while the Red & Yellow Wreath is listed at about 6 inches deep after shaping.
Some wreaths arrive tightly compressed and look much smaller before the branches are spread. Compare the fully expanded size with your door measurements, not the dimensions of the shipping box.
Compare the current 22-inch fall wreath styles
The product currently has eight wreath styles in the style selector. These are the exact names shown to shoppers, with the key visual differences to consider:
- Red-Orange Berry — clusters of red berries, small yellow floral details, and red, orange and yellow foliage. The product lists an inner opening of about 9.5 inches.
- Gold Sunflower & Maple — warm gold-toned blooms, smaller floral accents and layered maple-leaf foliage for a traditional autumn look.
- Orange Daisy & Berry — orange daisies mixed with eucalyptus, maple leaves and berries. The listed inner opening is about 12 inches.
- Orange Pumpkin & Berry — mini orange pumpkins, eucalyptus foliage and berries. It has a listed 12-inch inner opening and is about 5 inches deep.
- Berry Maple & Eucalyptus — a foliage-led combination of maple and eucalyptus leaves, berries and slender branches.
- Red & Yellow Wreath — prominent red berries surrounded by red, orange and yellow fall leaves. The expanded wreath is listed at about 6 inches deep.
- Red Yellow & Green Wreath — red, yellow and green autumn foliage, with mini pumpkins and red-berry details.
- Beige Thanksgiving Wreath — layered orange, red and gold leaves with berry clusters and small pumpkin accents, suited to harvest and Thanksgiving decorating.
All eight are listed as 22-inch wreath options. Several have grapevine bases, while the Berry Maple & Eucalyptus style is described with a flexible branch frame. Check the selected style's photos and details rather than assuming every wreath has the same construction.
Match the palette to the door, not just the season

“Fall colours” can mean bright orange, warm gold, berry red, muted neutrals or green foliage. The more useful question is which of those colors will stand out against your door once the wreath is hanging.
- Black, charcoal and deep navy doors. Gold, orange and lighter details can make a striking contrast. Consider Gold Sunflower & Maple or Orange Daisy & Berry for a warmer floral look.
- White and pale doors. More saturated leaf and berry colors tend to read clearly against a light background. Red-Orange Berry and Red & Yellow Wreath offer especially autumnal red, orange and yellow combinations.
- Natural wood doors. Look for some green foliage to break up the warm wood tones. Berry Maple & Eucalyptus and Orange Pumpkin & Berry both bring greenery into the arrangement.
- Red or strongly colored doors. Avoid choosing a wreath that depends entirely on the door's existing color. Gold blooms, varied foliage and neutral accents can help provide contrast.
Floral, pumpkin or foliage-led?
This may be the most useful distinction between the current 22-inch variants.
For a more floral display, compare Gold Sunflower & Maple with Orange Daisy & Berry. For an obvious harvest or Thanksgiving look, Orange Pumpkin & Berry, Red Yellow & Green Wreath and Beige Thanksgiving Wreath include pumpkin details. If you prefer berries and foliage to large flowers, start with Red-Orange Berry, Berry Maple & Eucalyptus or Red & Yellow Wreath.
Do not forget how the wreath will hang

Choosing the wreath is only half of the setup. Before ordering, check how you are actually going to attach it to the door.
The product selector also includes three hanger-only variants. Their exact option names are:
- Black Adjustable Hanger
- Bronze Adjustable Hanger
- White Adjustable Hanger
These are not wreath styles, and choosing one does not include a wreath. If you need both items, add your chosen wreath style and your chosen hanger finish to the cart separately.
The metal over-the-door hangers adjust from 15 to 25 inches, are listed to hold up to 20 lb and are designed for doors under 1.8 inches thick. Their adjustable length makes it easier to position the same 22-inch wreath at the right height without drilling.
- Check the top of the door. Make sure there is enough clearance for an over-the-door hanger without interfering with the frame or weather seal.
- Check for a storm or screen door. A wreath and hanger need enough depth between the doors to avoid being compressed.
- Coordinate the finish. Black works naturally with dark hardware, bronze suits many traditional entries, and white can visually disappear against a white door.
- Check what comes with your wreath. The Orange Daisy & Berry and Orange Pumpkin & Berry styles are listed with a hanging loop and an adhesive-backed hook. Other styles may need your existing hook or a separate hanger.
Remember that artificial wreaths need shaping
An artificial wreath may not look exactly like its product photograph the moment it comes out of the packaging. Leaves, branches and flowers can be compressed during transit, particularly on styles designed with bendable or reshapeable foliage.
Before judging the size:
- Place the wreath on a flat surface.
- Gently separate compressed branches and foliage.
- Move flowers and decorative elements forward instead of leaving them pressed into the base.
- Rotate the wreath and check its outline from several angles.
- Hang it and make a final adjustment while viewing it from several feet away.
This is particularly important when choosing based on diameter. The useful measurement is the wreath after it has been properly opened and shaped, not the compressed dimensions inside the shipping box.
Covered outdoor placement will usually preserve it better
The current product guidance recommends indoor display or sheltered outdoor placement, such as a covered porch or recessed doorway. Direct sun, heavy rain and wind can wear decorative foliage faster, particularly on styles with more delicate accents.
A recessed doorway, covered porch or similarly sheltered position is therefore the safer choice when you want to reuse the wreath for more than one season.
If your door receives strong afternoon sun, check the specific style's care guidance before using it outdoors. The Red-Orange Berry version, for example, is recommended for shaded, protected display.
Buy for storage as well as display
One advantage of an artificial fall wreath is that it can return next year, but only if it is stored without crushing the parts that give it its shape.
- Store the wreath flat or hanging rather than placing heavy boxes on top of it.
- Keep flowers and branches loosely arranged instead of forcing them into a container that is too small.
- Use a wreath storage bag or suitably sized box to limit dust.
- Avoid prolonged heat and direct sunlight during storage where possible.
- Expect to reshape the wreath again when it comes out next season.
What we would decide first
If you are comparing the current wreath styles, make the decisions in this order:
- Check the 22-inch fit: measure the open area of your door and allow for the wreath's full expanded outline.
- Choose the visual direction: berry-forward, sunflower, daisy, pumpkin-and-harvest, or foliage-led.
- Match the palette to your door: use contrast rather than choosing autumn colors in isolation.
- Check where the wreath will hang: especially if you have a storm or screen door or the display will be outdoors.
- Add hanging hardware if needed: choose a black, bronze or white adjustable hanger separately, or use the hanging hardware supplied with qualifying wreath styles.
Once those decisions are made, comparing the individual 22-inch variants becomes much easier.
